Work to clean up the scene of a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 470 is underway Monday afternoon. The rollover crash occurred around 7:15 a.m., according to Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Bryan McFarland, and closed both eastbound lanes of the highway just east of its intersection with I-70 in St. Clairsville. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced I-470 had reopened by 4 p.m. Monday. McFarland said the driver was a 40-year-old man from California, who was taken by a Cumberland Trail Fire District ambulance to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. McFarland said the commercial truck was headed east when it traveled off the left side of the road and overturned into the grass median, noting that rainy weather and speed were factors in the crash.
