Belmont Career Center to hold Senior Certificate Ceremony

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont Career Center students will be honored during the 53rd annual Senior Certificate Ceremony and Awards Presentation on Monday at the ECO Center at Ohio University Eastern.

Scholarship, attendance, outstanding career-technical student awards, and career-technical certificates will be presented to 97 seniors.

The top honor student is Layla Ratay, daughter of Victoria Markle of Martins Ferry. Ratay completed the carpentry program and will graduate from Bridgeport High School. She was named to the honor roll or principal’s list each nine weeks of the three years she spent at the career center. She was selected “Student of the Month” during her junior year.

Ratay took part in the career center’s Early Job Placement program at Touchstone Research Laboratory and plans to attend college and major in engineering.
