SHADYSIDE — On Central Avenue, a new salon recently opened by Macy Coffland offers everything from spray tans to nails to teeth gems.

“This was my dream. I’ve always said that. I wanted to own my own shop in my hometown. So that’s what happened and I couldn’t be happier. Things are great, and business is great. I just wanted to let everybody know we’re here and what we do,” Coffland said.

Working along with Coffland, who does nails, lashes, body waxing and both men and women’s hair, are Maggie Persinger and Ellie Thomas. Both offer a wide variety of services. Persinger provides haircuts and styles, hair extensions, tensile feathers and spray tans. Thomas does hair as well as nails, lashes, tooth gems and hair extensions and facials.

The name of One Love, which opened at the beginning of April, is an idea that came from her brother.

“The idea for the name One Love comes from my brother. It was just something he often says to me, and that’s where it kind of came from. It’s just something he says when he sees me. I got an idea (to open a salon) and he was like, ‘Call it One Love,” and I was like, ‘You know what, that fits perfectly.’

Currently, the stylists at One Love are available by appointment only. QR codes on the front windows can be scanned for online booking or you can call 740-310-4096.

There are plans going forward for summer activities and pop-up shops along with specials.

“We’re excited to start a new thing and have new specials,” Coffland said.
