BL planning Back-to-School Bash on Aug.4

CONNORVILLE — Buckeye Local Schools are getting students ready to return with a fun-filled Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 4.

The annual activity gets underway at Buckeye Local High School from 3-5 p.m. and will feature school supply giveaways, vendors and more. Organizer Susan Nolan, who serves as principal at Buckeye North Elementary in Brilliant, said there will be plenty to see and do.

“The Back-to-School Bash is set up to help families get ready for the school year by providing free school supplies and a chance to see other vendors as well. Lots of fun activities are planned,” Nolan said. “There will be free backpacks with a variety of supplies inside, inflatables, vendors, fire and safety departments and lots more.”

This year’s event will kick off with music by the BLHS Marching Band while the 106.3 Willie radio station will conduct a live broadcast. The bash, which has been held for more than a decade, has drawn more than 350 kids along with their parents, friends and other relatives. Nolan added that the event has been organized through the school district with participation from the schools, administration and staff.

“We want to invite all Buckeye Local students and staff to the event and hope we have a fantastic crowd,” Nolan concluded.
