Belmont College awarded $173,111 in Talent Ready Grants
St. Clairsville — Belmont College has been awarded $173,111 in Talent Ready Grants. The grants, previously called “short-term certificate grants,” will assist Ohio students take a credit or non-credit short-term certificate program.
The programs eligible for the grant lead to in-demand jobs in the medical and advanced manufacturing fields including State Tested Nurses Aide (STNA) and Commercial Truck Driving.
On November 15, 2024, Belmont College was awarded $82,000 in additional Ohio Talent Ready Grant funding.
This award is a supplement the initial grant award of $91,111 for a total of $173,111 in grant awards.
According to Danielle Moore, Director of Financial Aid, “Students can receive up to $2,000 toward the cost of a certificate. Eligible students must reside in Ohio and be pursuing a short-term certificate program.”
Moore continued, “Since the 2022-2023 academic year, Belmont College has awarded $193,815 in state grant funding to 184 Belmont College students to help them pursue short-term certifications.”
“Talent Ready Grants are part of a series of DeWine-Husted administration initiatives designed to strengthen Ohio’s education and workforce training efforts across the state,” said Mike Duffey, Chancellor of the Department of Higher Education.
