Bridgeport Exempted Village School District held its Spelling Bee held on Tuesday, Nov. 26. First place was Brett Kuprowicz, 8th grade. This is Brett’s 3rd year winning first place. Runner up is Cambria Breiding and is in 7th grade. Both advance to the 2024-25 Belmont County Spelling Bee, scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the ECO Center on the campus of Ohio University Eastern, St. Clairsville. The county bee is sponsored by The Times Leader, Belmont Savings Bank, Wilson Furniture, Wilson Funeral Homes, LED Transportations, Uniglobe Ohio Valley Travel, East Central Ohio Educational Service Center and the Martins Ferry Elks.
