Harrison hospital receives proceeds from Blues for A Cure, Summer Concert Series
CADIZ — WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital received $18,500 from the 13th annual Sean Carney’s Blues for a Cure concert and $1,200 from the summer concert series from parking donations and 50/50 raffles.
The concert raises donations for the Harrison Community Hospital Foundation Cancer Fund and the Harrison County Cancer Crusaders each year.
The money raised from the event is allocated to Harrison County residents who have been afflicted by cancer by helping to pay for medical care expenditures incurred when traveling for treatment, as well as basic expenses.
“We are appreciative of the continued support we receive from the community to help assist those that are in need financial assistance while battling cancer,” Stacey
Armstrong, interim president and CEO of Harrison Community Hospital, said. “If you know of a cancer patient in need of financial assistance, whether it’s transportation to treatment or medical equipment, please direct them to call 740-942-6206.”
This year’s concert featured a variety of artists, including Sean Carney, Jake Friel, Scotty Bratcher, the Miss Freddye Band, Noah Hunt, Noah Wotherspoon and Sean Chambers & Savoy Brown Rhythm Section.
“It was an honor once again to host Sean Carney’s Blues for a Cure 2024 with such a stellar lineup of talent all while raising money to help those afflicted with cancer in
