CADIZ — The Harrison Central Class of 2025 graduated Friday in a ceremony held at the Harrison Central Junior-Senior High School Gymnasium.

Anthony Bender Pelegreen is the class valedictorian. The son of Joseph and Sarah Pelegreen of Hopedale, he will attend Miami University’s Honors College and the Farmer School of Business, majoring in finance and entrepreneurship. Anthony has earned the Ohio Governor’s Merit Scholarship, MU Bridges Program for Excellence Scholarship, MU Honors College Prodesse Scholars Scholarship and MU Ohio Governor’s Scholarship. A National Honor Society member and four-year Ruritan Scholar, he has also been named to the principal’s list with distinction and Belmont College dean’s list.

Anthony is a three-year varsity baseball letterman and served as team captain, helping lead the team to a 2023 OHSAA Division III State Runner-Up finish. He also participated in Buckeye Boys State, Close-Up in Washington, D.C., and is involved in the HC Pep Club and Huskies Way Leadership. He has completed over 200 hours of community service through food bank work, event support, tutoring, and youth baseball umpiring, and is active in Bell Chapel United Methodist Church and the Hopedale Sportsman’s Club.

The class salutatorian is Kayden Mitchell Dunkle, son of Stephanie and Brian Dunkle of Cadiz. He will attend the University of Mount Union, where he plans to major in mechanical engineering. He has received both the Governor’s Merit Scholarship and the Trustee Scholarship from Mount Union. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized as a Ruritan Scholar for his academic excellence.

A standout athlete, Kayden earned varsity letters in both baseball and soccer. In baseball, he was named Second Team Eastern District and First Team Buckeye 8. In soccer, he earned First Team OVAC and First Team Buckeye 8 honors. He served as team captain in both sports during his junior and senior years, exemplifying leadership and commitment both on and off the field.

Kayden is also actively involved in community service. He has volunteered for Ohio 9 cleanup projects, worked school fish frys, organized Ramen Noodle drives for families in need, and provided peer tutoring to his classmates.

AnnMarie Grace Corder, daughter of Shauna and Dustin Corder of Cadiz, who plans to study esthetics at Aveda Institute Columbus.

Lauren Jean Doane, daughter of Travis and Bethany Doane of Freeport, who will attend Malone University for exercise science.

Jillian Evelyn Foreman, daughter of Andrew Foreman and Christine Olinski of Scio, who will major in aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Kaitlyn Michelle Morrison, daughter of Robert Morrison and Autumn Francis of Bloomingdale, who will attend Kent State University to study hospitality and event management.

Madelyn Joanna Sedgmer, daughter of William and Tiffany Sedgmer of New Athens, who will study civil engineering at Belmont College.

TyLynn Marie Smith, daughter of Tyler Smith and Lacee Jones of Cadiz, who will attend Ohio University Eastern to study social work.

Madison Marie Zeroski, daughter of Kaydee and Frank Zeroski of Cadiz, who will attend Waynesburg University to study psychology and play volleyball.
