CFOV is seeking applicants for health grants

WHEELING — The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is seeking applicants for the 2025 River Valley Health Fund grants.

The fund was established following the sales of the non-profit Ohio Valley Medical Center and Eastern Ohio Regional Hospital to Alecto Healthcare Hospitals, a for-profit health care system.

The mission has been to continue the charitable efforts of the two hospitals.

The grants are intended to assist non-profit organizations seeking to provide health education and services for vulnerable populations; nutrition and healthcare education; health screenings; food insecurity; and primary medical and dental care.

Those eligible to apply include schools, fire and police departments, and other non-profits serving the city of Wheeling, and Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties in West Virginia. Also eligible are those in the cities of Martins Ferry and St. Clairsville, and in Belmont, Jefferson, Monroe, Guernsey and Harrison counties in Ohio.

Applications are being accepted until 4 p.m. on July 11, with funding announcements expected in August.

It is not suggested that those applying not wait until the last few days to submit their grant application. This allows them and CFOV time to address any technical issues that may be experienced, and technical assistance is not guaranteed on the day of the grant deadline.

Applications for the grant may be accessed through the CFOV.org website.

Those needing assistance with the online account login should contact Debbie at 304-242-3144, or email her at debbie@cfov.org.

Only one grant request per organization will be considered.
