National Road Sheetz reopens after renovation

Photo by Emma Delk The National Road Sheetz opened its doors to customers on Wednesday after six months of renovations.

WHEELING — The Sheetz store along National Road reopened its doors to the public Wednesday after an extensive renovation project.

Sheetz Public Affairs Manager Nick Ruffner said the renovation project brought “enhanced upgrades for customers,” including self-service kiosks, Made-To-Order points and self-checkout stations.

“Sheetz is excited to be offering our loyal customers in Wheeling a new store that includes an enhanced restaurant-style experience,” Ruffner said.

Sheetz had initially planned on the store being closed for six months, but the actual renovations were completed in less than five months.

The store, located at the junction of National Road and Bethany Pike, closed in February to begin renovations. Ruffner said Sheetz employees from the store were temporarily relocated to other Sheetz locations in the surrounding area while the remodel was underway.
