Planning commission to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Planning Commission’s meeting will be held at noon Aug. 25 at the Annex III building, located at 101 N. Market St., St. Clairsville. It is open to the public.
Bridgeport council meeting set
BRIDGEPORT — The village of Bridgeport has scheduled a regular council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building.
Board seeks to fill seat
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill a position on the Belmont County Planning Commission. This is a three-year term. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 5. Interested parties can stop in or contact the commissioners’ office at 740-699-2155 to request an application.
Special session slated
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Richland Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss a proposed improvement on Dehnam Road. The meeting will be held with a representative from CESO. The public is welcome to attend at the township meeting hall.
Meeting date changed
BELLAIRE — The monthly Eastern Ohio Regional Wastewater Authority Board of Trustees September meeting time has been changed to 10 a.m. Sept. 10 at at the plant, located at 6000 N Guernsey St., Bellaire.
Board sets closed-door session
SHADYSIDE — The Shadyside Local Board of Education will hold a special meeting in a closed-door session to discuss administrative compensation at 8 a.m. Monday in the district office, located at 3893 Central Ave., Shadyside.
Vocational meeting planned
BLOOMINGDALE — The Board of Education for the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom of the Jefferson County JVS.
Elections board meets Monday
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Board of Elections will hold a regular adjourned monthly meeting of the members at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the boardroom of the BCBOE office, 52180 E. National Road, St. Clairsville.
Special session planned
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Colerain Township Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Colerain Township Complex at 70730 Crescent Road, St. Clairsville. Bids will be opened for several township projects, including paving, slips, and culvert work. No other business will be conducted at this meeting. For more information, call 740-695-5430. Waste authority to discuss personnel
STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority Personnel Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson JBGT building, 228 Technology Way, Steubenville, to discuss personnel matters. General board meetings are open to the public.

MARTINS FERRY — Martins Ferry City Council will meet in special session at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for the hearing of legislation only. The meeting is open to the public.
Land bank to meet
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Land Reutilization Corp. will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Sept. 8 in the commissioners’ meeting room in the Belmont County Courthouse. The meeting will be open to the public.
Belmont College board meeting set

Trustees plan 2 meetings
SMITHFIELD — The Smithfield Township trustees will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Smithfield Township Piney Fork Park, located in Piney Fork. To be placed on the meeting agenda, call 740-546-3079.
The trustees also will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Smithfield Community Center in Smithfield to discuss health insurance and road repair quotes.
UL board meets Aug. 21
BELMONT — The Union Local Board of Education will hold its regular meeting at 5 p.m. Aug. 21 in the high school Learning Center.
Barnesville board reschedules
BARNESVILLE — The Barnesville Exempted Village School District has changed the date of its regular August meeting. It will now be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18 in the middle school cafetorium. The purpose of this meeting is to finalize any unfinished business prior to the official start of the 2025-26 school year.
