At 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant on a traffic stop on the eastbound on ramp from U.S. 40 to Interstate 70 in Richland Township. A warning was issued for defective tail lights, the report indicated.
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to the area of the parking lot outside of Marshall’s at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville for a report of a hit-skip accident with property damage only.
At 3:29 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near mile marker 220 in Pease Township issued a warning to a Pennsylvania motorist for an equipment violation.
At 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, a detective on a traffic stop on Hall Street in Bridgeport obtained a verbal consent to search a vehicle with West Virginia plates. A warning was issued for driving outside of marked lanes and for driving with an obstructed view. The officer seized a dab pen and four vapes, according to the report.
At 11:23 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out checking out an illegal dump site on Piedmont Lake Road in Barnesville. A large dump site was located, and mail was also found, the report stated.
At 10:26 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 east near mile marker 215 in St. Clairsville obtained consent to search the vehicle, but nothing was found on the search. A warning was issued to an Ohio motorist for a turn signal violation and for driving outside of marked lanes.
At 8:51 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a pre-school student was injured prior to her getting on the bus, and they were calling an emergency squad. A deputy responded to the scene at Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire. A staff member was riding the student to Trinity Medical Center in St. Clairsville. A school counselor made contact with Child Protective Services. Statements were obtained, and the deputy went to the hospital with CPS.
At 8:38 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported some sort of altercation at the Comfort Inn on National Road in St. Clairsville. A male was walking up National Road. An officer responded and reported that nothing physical happened. It was just an argument, and parties went on their way.
At 3:03 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a location in Pultney Township for a call about someone shooting in the area, and the school was holding children indoors. The parents were on hold. An officer made contact with the male who was shooting. There was no criminal intent, according to the officer. A report about the incident was to be placed on file.
At 1:46 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was at a location in Pease Township where a complainant reported a trailer hitch and ball were stolen from behind a store on Sunday.
At 2:05 p.m. Thursday, a detective on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near mile marker 218 in Richland Township issued a warning to a New York motorist for driving left of center and for driving outside of marked lanes.
At 1:14 p.m. Thursday, a detective on a traffic stop at a location on Interstate 70 west near mile marker 216 in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags.
At 10:54 a.m. Thursday, a deputy at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville obtained consent to search the vehicle. Two needles were found in a purse and were confiscated. Both parties were advised to stay away from Lowe’s. Charges were pending for possession of drug abuse instruments and theft, the report indicated.
At 9:35 a.m. Thursday, an officer responded to an accident on 38th Street in Bellaire. The deputy assisted Bellaire Police on the call.
At 7:18 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported that three or four people were fighting at a location in Wheeling Township, and a male was laying on the ground. Deputies responded. All was clear. No one was fighting, and no one was on the ground, according to the report, which stated the people there were doing roof work.
At 5:43 a.m. Thursday, a sergeant was out with a suspicious female walking on Barton Road in St. Clairsville. The officer gave her a ride to the area of the Ohio Valley Mall.
At 3:28 a.m. Thursday, a sergeant found a vehicle hatch open during a routine patrol of a known area targeted for theft in Pease Township. Contact was made with the owners. Nothing was found to be missing from the vehicle.
At 1:20 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported that an intoxicated male would not leave a residence in Pease Township. Units responded and made contact with the male. While following him to the residence, he fell approximately three times, according to the officers. Deputies contacted the emergency medical service to evaluate and threat the male, who ultimately chose to be transported to the hospital. The female complainant stated that she did not need any further assistance, and deputies cleared.
At 12:34 a.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville issued a verbal warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags and for a stop sign violation.
