At 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy went with an emergency medical service squad to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital with a female inmate of the Belmont County Jail who was possibly in labor. At 11:47 p.m., the deputy left with the female prisoner en route back to the jail, according to the report.

At 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to an address on Belmont Road in Bethesda for a report of a DOA. The EMS requested the coroner.

At 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Rock River Road in Somerset Township after a caller reported that a vehicle was in her yard. The officer reported that the individual was working for the waterline.

At 12:03 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant was out with the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a disabled vehicle on National Road East in St. Clairsville. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene.

At 11:53 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was en route to an address on Tacoma Road in Warren Township to contact a deceased person’s wife, according to the report. No contact was made, as no one appeared to be home. Knox County authorities were notified.

At 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, a school resource officer at Belmont Career Center on Hammond Road in St. Clairsville received a vape detection alert from the girls’ restroom in the back hall. A principal responded. Two female students were “wanded” with a metal detecting wand. A report was filed.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, a school resource officer at Powhatan Elementary School in York Township conducted a welfare check on a student due to concerns regarding excessive unexcused absences. The student accumulated seven unexcused absences within the past month. The student answered the door and stated that his mother told him he could stay home from school that day. His mother was not present at the residence. The officer explained the importance of school attendance and outlined the potential consequences of continued unexcused absences. Two attempts were made to contact the mother by phone, but the calls went unanswered. The deputy contacted Child Protective Services and the school district’s attendance personnel.

At 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy assisted units from the St. Clairsville Police Department at an address on Orchard Lane in St. Clairsville with a female who was reportedly having a reaction after taking THC.

At 12:36 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy assisted St. Clairsville police on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville.
