Belmont Juvenile Court introduces Teen Recharge Program
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Court of Common Pleas — Probate/Juvenile DivisionJudge Al Davies has announced the launch of the Teen Recharge Program, a new initiative designed to equip strong-willed teens with the tools they need to foster accountability, personal growth and positive decision-making.
The Teen Recharge Program is modeled after and aligned with the Parent Project, a nationally recognized, evidence-based program Belmont County Juvenile Court has offered to parents since 2019. Like the Parent Project, the Teen Recharge Program will follow a 10-week format and provide practical skills, strategies, and real-world tools for improving behavior, strengthening relationships, and creating lasting change.
This program is the result of a collaborative effort between Belmont County Court staff and the following partner agencies: Harrison County Juvenile Court, Kendall Behavioral Solutions, NAMI, Belmont County Health Department, Belmont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Belmont County Mental Health and Recovery Board, Tri-County, and Belmont County Student Services.
Since its introduction in Belmont County, the Parent Project has empowered parents to navigate the challenges of raising strong-willed or at-risk children through strategies that improve communication, strengthen family bonds, and promote healthier dynamics. The Teen Recharge Program takes these principles directly to the teens themselves, creating a two-fold approach that addresses both sides of the family equation.
The first Teen Recharge Program session is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 18.
