At 10:57 p.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with a suspicious male on Neffs Road near the Dollar General on Pike Street. One male was detained and taken to jail. Brian Gregory Jeffers was booked into the Belmont County Jail on a charge of failure to appear.
At 9:28 p.m. Wednesday, officers on a traffic stop on Brand Avenue in Bridgeport reported that a K-9 gave a positive indication on the driver’s side of a vehicle. Three people were detained. A female voluntarily removed meth and paraphernalia from her private area, according to the report. Kalyee Ann Jones was booked into the Belmont County Jail on a charge of drug possession.
At 9:26 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop near Save A Lot on East Main Street in Barnesville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for defective equipment.
At 9:12 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Barnesville-Bethesda Road/Shamrock drive in Barnesville issued a warning to a Pennsylvania motorist for defective equipment.
At 9:01 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Virginia Avenue in Bethesda issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for defective equipment.
At 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop near the Interstate 70 and Interstate 470 split in Richland Township issued a warning to a Florida motorist driving a semi registered in Pennsylvania for driving with an unsecured load.
At 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to a single-vehicle accident with property damage only on Barton Road in St. Clairsville. The registered owner requested a tow truck, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.
At 5:33 p.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to Walmart on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of an employee who was threatened by a customer. The customer reportedly stated that he was going to shoot her, and he left before the officer arrived. Information was taken for a report.
At 5:14 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant responded to Dunham’s Sports on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville for a report of two males who walked out with a crossbow without paying for it. Information was taken for a shoplifting report.
