At 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out with a vehicle and units from the Richland Township Police Department at Interstate 70 west near mile marker 200 for a possible “rolling domestic,” according to the report. One male was detained. It was determined that this was a verbal argument only, the report stated.

At 3:56 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out at Riesbeck’s on National Road in Bridgeport on a shoplifting call. A woman was stuffing items in her purse, according to the report, which stated that the store was taking care of the matter.

At 3:16 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire for a report of a student refusing to leave the classroom. The student went with their grandmother, the report stated.

At 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant took a call from a female who stated that another female punched a male in the face at an address on Third Street in Powhatan Point. However, neither party alleged to be involved in the assault reported the incident. A call record was taken.

At 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, the principal at the Belmont Career Center on Hammond Road in St. Clairsville requested that the school resource officer attend an interview with a student “regarding making false claims,” according to the report. The deputy sat in on the interview with the student. No criminal action was needed, he reported.

At 12:36 p.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to an address on East Main Street in Flushing Township for a report of a water meter lock that had been cut off. Information was taken for a vandalism report. The water department turned the water off and locked it again, the report stated.

At 11:57 a.m. Wednesday, units went to an address in Colerain Township to serve a warrant on male who was a registered a sex offender. Multiple locations were checked. The male was reportedly spotted running south on Colerain Pike in the creek. Additional officers responded with a K-9 unit. One male was taken into custody. Vincent F. Warner, 21, was taken to jail.

At 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on National Road in Colerain Township for a report of a breaking and entering at a storage shed. Information was taken for a report.

At 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, an anonymous caller reported hearing multiple gunshots and a male and female fighting on Johnson Avenue in Pease Township. Deputies responded and spoke with several residents in the area.

At 9 a.m. Wednesday, the director of the Belmont County Concentrated Conduct Adjustment Program (C-CAP) requested an investigation and criminal charges related to a program attendee having been found with a suspected THC vaping device. A school resource officer from the Belmont Career Center conducted the investigation and prepared a report for charges.

At 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy performed a traffic stop on a semi on Interstate 70 east near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville. A written warning was issued to an Indiana driver for traveling outside of marked lanes.
