At 9:49 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that she was in a locked vehicle with her sister and a 6-year-old child at an address on Washington Street in Somerton, and a male known to her was driving a vehicle through the yard yelling at them. According to the report, this was deemed to be a civil matter and a verbal conflict only.

At 9:33 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a need for an inmate at the Belmont County Jail to be transported to the hospital. One deputy went with an emergency medical service squad, and another deputy relieved him at the hospital at 2 a.m. The inmate was medically cleared to return to the jail at 4:46 a.m.

At 7:58 p.m. Thursday, a caller from the Pleasant Valley Trailer Court on South Main Street in Bethesda reported that neighbors from another lot accused them of stealing their groceries. The caller also stated that the male threatened her. An officer responded and reported that the people from the lot in question denied knowing anything about the grocery issue. The caller did not wish to pursue any charges, according to the report.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 north in Tiltonsville issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for failure to signal.

At 7:14 p.m. Thursday, a caller from South Almar Lane in St. Clairsville reported that a small group of males came to his house earlier in the day, and they did work on his driveway after speaking with him. They requested $2,000, he said, noting that he had paid them $1,000. The caller was advised of what steps he can take, according to the report.

At 6:26 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out assisting units from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Third Street in Tiltonsville serving a misdemeanor warrant out of Belmont County for a female. One female was taken to the Belmont County Jail.

At 5:28 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out at Mutton Hollow Road in Lansing for a report of a male who a caller said was outside walking and yelling out loud. The officer did not locate the male.

At 4:55 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 south near the Tiltonsville exit issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for loud exhaust. Charges were pending, the report indicated.

At 4:45 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 south near the Tiltonsville exit issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for traveling outside of marked lanes.

At 3:15 p.m. Thursday, FBI Threat Operations advised they had received information that an individual was in crisis and was in need of a welfare check. A deputy checked an address on West Brooklyn Street in Belmont for the male, but the residence was vacant.

At 12:13 p.m. Thursday, a caller from McGregor Hill Road in Bellaire reported that his truck was vandalized and items were stolen from the vehicle, including the temporary tag from the back. A deputy responded and took photos and a written statement from the complainant.

At 11:19 a.m. Thursday, a complainant from an address on Crozier Ridge Road in Bellaire came to the station to report that a male has been harassing the neighborhood by doing donuts in the roadway and revving his vehicle up at all hours of the night. The complainant also reported that he was also making threats to neighbors and it appeared that this behavior was escalating. A deputy spoke to the male and advised him to “stop the nonsense in the roadway and leave the neighbors alone,” according to the report. The complainant was advised to call any time there was an issue and was advised of the possibility of obtaining a civil protection order.

At 9:11 a.m. Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that there was a horse in the roadway on National Road in St. Clairsville and requested assistance. Troopers asked deputies to check the gas station for horse trailers. The horse was secured near mile marker 204 at around 9:48 a.m., according to the report. Belmont County Hoof and Paw took custody of the horse.

At 9:08 a.m. Thursday, a complainant from Uniontown-Flushing Road in St. Clairsville came to the station to report the theft of a credit card. He reported that his ex-wife had a credit card put in his name while they were legally married but separated, and she made charges to the account. The complainant was advised that this was a civil matter and to contact an attorney.
