YWCA Wheeling, Tri County Help Center host annual free bowling event to strike out domestic violence
WHEELING — The YWCA Wheeling and Tri-County Help Center is proud to announce the return of its annual free bowling event, now in its third year.
The event provides a fun, family-friendly activity for the community while highlighting the importance of collaboration between local agencies and support for victims and survivors of domestic violence. This year’s event coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, serving as a reminder of the critical role community connections play in fostering safety, empowerment, and healing.
Participants are invited to enjoy free bowling at St. Clair Lanes from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 24 While the event is free, advance reservations are required, and attendees should call St. Clair Lanes at 740-695-3641 to reserve a lane.
“This event is about more than just bowling,” said Jennifer Stevens, Family Violence Prevention Program director at YWCA Wheeling. “It’s an opportunity for our community to come together, have fun, and show support for survivors of domestic violence.”
Megan Talkington, Community Education Coordinator at Tri-County Help Center, added, “Events like this foster a sense of unity and provide an opportunity to highlight the resources available to those affected by domestic violence. Together, we can make a tangible impact in the lives of survivors and their families.”
This annual collaboration emphasizes the power of community partnerships in creating a safe, supportive environment for all residents. By combining outreach, education, and fun, the YWCA Wheeling and Tri-County Help Center continue to make a meaningful difference in the Ohio Valley region.
