At 11:56 a.m. Monday, a deputy was out at Union Local High School on Belmont-Morristown Road to get a statement about harassment.

At 9:26 a.m. Monday, a complainant came to the station to speak with a deputy about reporting a stolen firearm. This stemmed from a family matter in the wake of his wife’s death around 25 years ago, according to the report. After hearing an explanation about the situation, a corporal advised the complainant to hire an attorney and to send a letter to his late wife’s daughter in Bethesda requesting that the firearm be returned. The complainant was unhappy about this suggestion and left the sheriff’s office.

At 7:57 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a domestic situation on Mt. Victory Road in Powhatan Point. The complainant also indicated that they had a recording of this. A deputy responded. A female reportedly had a confirmed warrant. Randalynn Delores Doty was arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on charges of failure to appear/domestic violence, according to the report. A video did not show any signs of violence, the report stated, noting that both parties involved denied that an argument had happened.

At 1:59 a.m. Monday, an officer from the West Deer Township Police Department in Pennsylvania wanted a welfare check done on a female that they tracked to Belmont County. Contact with the female was made at Staples in St. Clairsville. The female refused medical attention.

At 8:36 p.m. Tuesday, an officer at the Belmont County Board of Elections on National Road in St. Clairsville reported that a male had fallen.

At 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was at the station with a complainant from Warren Avenue in Barnesville who reported a scam. The complainant resided in the Barnesville Police Department’s jurisdiction, and they were referred to them.

At 6:18 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a special detail went to an address on Twin Beech Road in Colerain to return an identification left at a polling location by a voter.

At 5:27 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an address on Kaczmarek Road in Flushing to investigate a domestic complaint involving custody issues. A temporary protection order had been filed that day, and officers were taking a female to meet representatives of the Tri-County Help Center in a non-residence location. The male also came to the location accompanied by a sergeant.

At 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, officers were out at Commons Mall Road in St. Clairsville with a suspicious male who was carrying boxes. The male got the boxes from Sam’s Club, according to the report. Sam’s Club wanted him trespassed, and he was informed of this.

At 4:27 p.m. Tuesday, officers were out on a traffic stop near the fountain on Main Street in Bridgeport with units from the Bridgeport Police Department. A K-9 gave a positive indication on the passenger side of the vehicle. An Ohio motorist was cited for improper display and passenger was cited for no seatbelt. One male and one female were taken to jail.

At 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Sam’s Club on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville reported that people were digging in the dumpsters. An officer responded but did not locate the subjects.

At 11:42 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Grove Lane in Martins Ferry reported two suspicious males walking around with a chain saw asking people if they needed work done. An officer checked the area but did not locate them.

At 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Etna, Ohio reported that an order from JC Penney was reportedly delivered by UPS to her parents’ house on New Castle Road in Beallsville and left on the back porch, but it was not there. The complainant said that JC Penney advised her to file a police report.

At 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on West Central Avenue in Shadyside for a report of a male passed out in a Jeep. According to the report, the male was OK. He was waiting for a ride.

At 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that his wife sees someone in the house on High Ridge Road in Bridgeport and there is no one else there. A deputy responded and advised there were possible mental health issues involved. The deputy cleared the scene.

At 1:06 a.m. Tuesday, a caller requested a welfare check on his girlfriend at an address on Third Street in Powhatan Point. The complainant said he called her and could hear her and a male known to him yelling and screaming in the background before the call was disconnected. An officer responded, but did not come into contact with anyone. There were no cars there, and no lights were on, according to the report.

At 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that there were people inside a vacant house on Ross Street in Brookside stealing things. An officer responded and checked the area, but found nothing.

At 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, a caller requested a welfare check on a male on Saunders Hill Street in Bellaire. An officer responded and reported that the male refused all medical treatment and appeared to be OK.
