At 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, officers assisted the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office with attempting to locate a male who was reportedly having health issues. Units responded to an address on Kinney Road in Beallsville, but did not come in contact with the male.

At 10:41 p.m. Wednesday, officers on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 near Shadyside confirmed a warrant for the arrest of a male in the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was also found, according to the report. Jerry Michael Ruskin was arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on a charge related to a probation violation. A female took possession of the vehicle.

At 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Aetna Street in Martins Ferry issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving outside of marked lanes.

At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers took a male prisoner from the Belmont County Jail to Trinity Medical Center in St. Clairsville for treatment of a head injury. The male was returned to the jail at 10:02 p.m.

At 9:37 p.m. Wednesday, officers on a traffic stop on Interstate 470 east near the Interstate 70 split in St. Clairsville issued a written warning to an Ohio motorist for failure to use a turn signal.

At 8:16 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from Clyde Street in Maynard requested a welfare check on a neighbor whose car door was open and lights were on for three hours. According to the responding officer, the male forgot to shut his door, and all was well.

At 8:01 p.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with a stolen vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville. According to the Suffolk County Police Department, this was in regard to a domestic incident and an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, and the alert was no longer active, the report indicated. The owner took possession of the vehicle, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol was advised.

At 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, units responded to an address on Cindy Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of a DOA. Information was taken for a report, and the family was notified.

At 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, several officers responded to an address on Main Street for a report of a breaking and entering. A caller reported that someone broke into his house through the front door and stole some items. The male complainant called back and stated that a female came out of his house window and took off toward the bridge. Officers were out with the complainant at 6 p.m. walking near the bank at the property. A deputy later went to the house and took information for a report.

At 3:57 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to an address on Beech Spring Road in Martins Ferry for a welfare check on a juvenile who was late for school, and her excuse for being late was that her “family tried to kill her,” according to the report. One male had a warrant and was taken to jail, the report indicated. Officers spoke with everyone, and everything was OK there, according to the report.

At 3:38 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on Arlington Street in Bridgeport reported that a tenant assaulted him while he was working at the apartment. Units responded to the scene and took information for a report. One male was taken to jail.

At 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to Patterson Hill Road in Bellaire for a complaint of a man going door-to-door aggressively asking about electric service providers and bills. Officers came in contact with the male, who had identification but did not have a permit for this activity, the report indicated.
