Holloway VFD and Methodist Church continue giving tradition
HOLLOWAY — The Holloway VFD and Methodist Church’s annually delivered Christmas cheer to their most elderly residents. Thanks to these two organizations and the generosity of several others, 34 Christmas Care Packages were made and distributed this year. This holiday gifting tradition has been an annual affair for many years.
Donations were received by members of the Holloway VFD and Methodist Church. Both groups expressed gratitude for generous donations received from Koch Caramels (Freeport), River Vue Gardens (Bellaire), Yost Accounting, Susan (Morris) Adams, and Jim Cunningham. Christmas bags consisted of homemade jellies, crackers and cheese, apples, oranges, candy canes, cookies, chips, cereal cups, nail clippers, ChapStick and other various items were dropped into each bag.
The packages were assembled at the Holloway VFD Hall and were hand delivered on Saturday Dec. 20 by members of the Holloway VFD and volunteers, using the Holloway E-Squad so those receiving knew they were from friends of Holloway. Using the E-Squad also added a little extra awareness and excitement to the Christmas care package being delivered.
Holloway Methodist Church would like to invite everyone to join in celebrating Christ’s birth on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. while Both the Holloway VFD and the church wished “everyone a Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy new year.”
