At 11:36 p.m. Monday, an officer on a traffic stop on National Road at Tinmar Drive in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for a headlight violation.

At 9:38 p.m. Monday, a caller from an Ohio psychiatric hospital requested a welfare check on a female at an address on Colerain Pike in Bridgeport. An emergency medical service squad was requested for the female, who was transported to WVU Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

At 9:29 p.m. Monday, a caller requested a welfare check on a woman at an address on West Main Street in Holloway. Contact was made with the woman, who reported that she was file and her phone was broken. She was planning to use someone else’s phone to contact the concerned individual who called authorities.

At 9:01 p.m. Monday, a caller reported that a white horse was seen on the side of the road on Wright Road in Barnesville. An officer patrolled the area but did not come in contact with the horse.

At 9:01 p.m. Monday, an officer responded to Laipple Street in Bridgeport for a report of a metal chair in the roadway. The chair was removed.

At 8:51 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious vehicle with West Virginia plates on Pleasant Ridge Road in Alledonia. There reportedly were two men sleeping in it. The caller woke them up, and they appeared to be under the influence, according to the report. The complainant called back and said they left in the vehicle and headed toward Ohio 140. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified.

At 6:53 p.m. Monday, a caller from Crescent Road in St. Clairsville reported that a female broke out his window with her hand. The female also called and stated this incident was over stolen items. She declined EMS. Officers responded and spoke with the individuals. Neither party wished to file charges, and this was not a domestic situation, officers reported. A deputy transported the female to Super 8.

At 6:32 p.m. Monday, a caller from Deer Road in Quaker City requested a welfare check on his children at an address on South Jefferson Street in Belmont. There was an open case with Child Protective Services, officials noted. Officers responded and found no issues at this time. CPS was advised of the findings.

At 7:09 p.m. Monday, an officer reported that a mailbox on Cindy Drive in St. Clairsville was struck by the passenger side mirror of his patrol car. The passenger side mirror was cracked, but there did not appear to be damage to the mailbox. Officers were to follow up with the homeowners on the following day.

At 5:10 p.m. Monday, a caller from Shepard Road in Bellaire reported that her vehicle was struck in a hit-skip accident while in the parking lot of Ollies Bargain Outlet on Banfield Road in St. Clairsville. A deputy responded and reported that the vehicle had cosmetic damage to the front-left bumper area. The caller reported that she was unsure if it happened there or outside of Boscov’s. Her insurance company was notified.

At 4:27 p.m. Monday, officials from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported that they have a report of a stolen side-by-side and that it may be located at an address on Carrie Street in Powhatan Point. A deputy responded and verified a matching vehicle identification number. Bill’s Towing was called to recover the vehicle. It was transported to the sheriff’s office impound lot. Carroll County officials were notified.

At 2:44 p.m. Monday, a deputy on a traffic stop on the Interstate 70 eastbound off ramp at mile marker 215 in Richland Township issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for a windshield obstruction.

At 12:50 p.m. Monday, a caller reported that someone tried to break into her home on Mellott Street in Powhatan Point. The living room window was broken sometime between Friday and Monday, the report indicated. A deputy responded and checked the property. The report was listed as a breaking and entering.

At 11:42 a.m. Monday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near mile marker 215 in Richland Township issued a warning to an Indiana motorist for their driving habits.

At 11:30 a.m. Monday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 south near 26th Street in Pultney Township issued a warning to a New York motorist for speeding.

At 10:49 p.m. Monday, an officer on a routine patrol of Super 8 motel reported to observe a male walking with what appeared to be a pistol in his hand. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the male was a convicted felon who was prohibited from carrying a firearm. The male was detained. Officers discovered that the pistol grip that was exposed in his front pocket was a torch lighter, according to the report. The male stated that he wanted law enforcement to take possession of the lighter so that he did not get in trouble with other agencies. He was released with no pending charges.
