At 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, a caller at Kroger on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville asked to speak to an officer face-to-face about an incident that allegedly occurred at Denny’s.
At 9:51 p.m. Tuesday, a 911 hangup call was received from Sleep Inn Suites on Reco Road in Belmont. An officer made contact with the front desk clerk, and there were no issues there as far as she knew. It was determined that a juvenile was playing with a phone and accidentally called 911. The mother was handling it.
At 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that she and her 8-year-old brother were dropped off at their grandmother’s house in Powhatan Point, but the house was dark and no one answered the door. Contact was made with the stepmother, but she reportedly said she did not want the caller to know where she was. The father was also refusing to take either of his children. Jefferson County authorities contacted Child Protective Services. A deputy responded and transported the caller and the juvenile to Wells Township to await CPS.
At 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported that her 28-year-old son was having mental health issues. He has taken medication for these issues in the past, but has stopped taking it. Deputies arrived at an address on Woodcroft Road in Richland Township. The male was calm when deputies arrived, and all was okay, according to the report. The Cumberland Trail Fire District was handling it.
At 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Belmont Street in Neffs reported that neighbors parked in her driveway, blocking her in, and they would not move. An officer responded, but the car was moved before his arrival.
At 8:07 p.m. Tuesday, deputies assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an accident on Fairpoint-New Athens Road in Wheeling Township. The driver was the registered owner, according to the report, which stated that a deputy advised there was “positive intoxication.”
At 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out with the game warden at an address on Farmington Road in Colerain Township.
At 6:39 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on West Main Street in Holloway on a request for a welfare check on an individual. All was well, according to the officer.
At 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, a complainant came to the station to report ongoing threats and harassment from her niece’s ex-boyfriend. Deputies responded to an address on Shepards Hill Road in Jacobsburg. The individuals only wanted to have information on file, according to the report.
At 2:39 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on East Main Street in Holloway on a request for a welfare check. The officer did not come in contact with the individual, according to the report.
At 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, a female from an address on Prospect Street in Bridgeport filed an online submission with the sheriff’s office and wanted a deputy to call her back. She reported that she noticed that someone had opened two student loans in her name and that someone used her information from an old FAFSA form using her maiden name. Two loans totaling $4,700 were issued through Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana. She had already contacted the college to make them aware of the situation. The college requested a case number from a police report and was investigating the incident. A report was also filed with the Federal Trade Commission.
At 10:03 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on East High Street in Flushing on a request for a welfare check.
At 8:51 a.m. Tuesday, a caller stated that he was locked in his girlfriend’s vehicle on South Willow Street in Bethesda, and she was trying to break the window with a pipe. A sergeant responded. Levi D. Allen was arrested and booked into the Belmont County Jail on charges of domestic violence, felonious assault and a failure to appear capias. Jessica D. Snyder was booked on one count of domestic violence.
At 8:16 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out with a stuck vehicle on National Road in St. Clairsville.
At 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to Barnesville-Hendrysburg Road near Harry Dew Road in Barnesville at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to check on a motor vehicle crash. Vehicles were stuck, and the officer shut down the top of the hill to await the Ohio Department of Transportation to treat the road. Several accidents had been reported in the wake of a snow storm. A semi also became stuck on the hill, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene, and the estimated time of arrival was an hour and a half, according to the report.
At 5:07 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out with a female trying to get into a caller’s residence on Ohio Street in Bridgeport.
At 12:46 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported an argument between juvenile siblings at an address on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport. The sister took a walk, the brother locked himself in his room. The male has mental issues, according to the report. The mother did not want anything done aside from having deputies talk to the juveniles.
