At 5:08 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to Barnesville-Hendrysburg Road near Harry Dew Road in Barnesville at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to check on a motor vehicle crash. Vehicles were stuck, and the officer shut down the top of the hill to await the Ohio Department of Transportation to treat the road. Several accidents had been reported in the wake of a snow storm. A semi also became stuck on the hill, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene, and the estimated time of arrival was an hour and a half, according to the report.

At 5:07 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out with a female trying to get into a caller’s residence on Ohio Street in Bridgeport.

At 12:46 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported an argument between juvenile siblings at an address on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport. The sister took a walk, the brother locked himself in his room. The male has mental issues, according to the report. The mother did not want anything done aside from having deputies talk to the juveniles.

At 10:49 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Ohio 800 near School Road in Jerusalem issued a verbal warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with obstructed plates.

At 9:33 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport reported an intoxicated male at the location who had a history of mental issues. He was not a resident of the address, but his girlfriend was, according to the report. Emergency medical service personnel took the male.

At 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, a 911 call was received from the Hampton Inn on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville. All that could be heard was the phone moving around. A male came on the line and stated his son had the desk phone, and all was well.

At 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, a loud music complaint was received from a resident of Belmont Heights Apartments on Blaine-Chermont Road in Bridgeport. The caller was advised to speak with the building manager.

At 6:54 p.m. Wednesday, a 911 hangup call was received from an address on East Main Street in Belmont. An officer called back and left a message, according to the report.

At 6:11 p.m. Wednesday, Franklin County Children Services requested a welfare check on a 17 year old at an address on West Main Street in Holloway. All was well, according to an officer.

At 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy received a firearm from a subject from an address on Wetzel Street in Wheeling who was a subject of a temporary protection order.

At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Bellaire-Neffs Road in Bellaire issued a verbal warning to a Sandbox truck driver for speeding.

At 11:51 a.m. Wednesday, complainant at the station reported that while he was incarcerated, someone used his debit card to make ATM withdrawals totaling $700. A sergeant took information.

At 11:46 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Guernsey Street in Bellaire issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for not having a license plate that was visible at a distance.

At 11:23 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported there were people in vehicles in a driveway on Frontier Drive in Belmont making noise and revving engines. At 12:42 a.m., high school aged kids flagged down a deputy at the Barkcamp entrance and advised that they were the ones in the driveway trying to pick up a girl, the report stated.

At 11:02 p.m. Thursday, Shadyside Police received a report that a male was in need of a welfare check at an address on Pike Street in Neffs. There was a report that he took a female’s firearm and may be in possession of it, according to the report. Officers spoke with everyone and reported all was okay.

At 10:27 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that someone hit a deer in front of his house on Hendrysburg-Freeport Road in Piedmont and he would like a tag to keep it. One tag was given, the report noted.

At 10:01 p.m. Thursday, a caller requested a welfare check on a female in a camper on Belmont-Warnock Road in Centerville. The caller said she lives alone and will not answer calls, but text replies are being received and the caller did not believe they were coming from her. An officer responded. No one answered the door, but there were footprints and tire tracks in the snow.

At 9:53 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop at the Yorkville exit of Ohio 7 north reported that an Ohio motorist denied a consent to search the vehicle. A K-9 reportedly gave a positive indication, but nothing was found on a search. A written traffic warning was issued.

At 9:29 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that a suspicious van with black out windows drove by her house several times with someone shining a flashlight into her house and carport. The caller wanted a record of the incident on file.

At 9:04 p.m. Thursday, a caller from Dollar General on National Road in Brookside reported that a male known to her threatened her. Officers responded, and the male was gone upon their arrival. The female was given a ride to an address on National Road to speak to the male. Both parties were separated and were told not to contact each other that night or they would go to jail.

At 8:35 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that a male was found passed out on the side of the building at Dollar General on West Central Avenue in Shadyside. Officers responded. The male was intoxicated and had a history of mental health issues, according to the report, which listed the nature of the incident as a narcotics overdose.

At 4:17 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an address on Judson Street in Bethesda for a report of an individual suffering from mental issues. Units patrolled the area and located the male via a traffic stop. Officers waited for the subject’s father to take him home, and an officer followed them.

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the principal of the Belmont Career Center reported that the school resource officer had taken possession of a nicotine vape device. This was the student’s first such offense, and the student was given a plan to include three days at CCAP and Vape 101 classes. The device was marked for disposal.

At 11:20 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to an address on Patterson Hill Road in Belaire for a report of a male issuing threats to a caller. An officer gave the male a ride to McDonald’s to wait for his ride.

At 11:15 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a location on West Prospect Street in Brookside for a report of a vehicle with West Virginia plates that had been parked there for a week.

At 11:06 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to the Sunoco on National Road in St. Clairsville for a report of a customer who was giving the staff problems. This was a verbal dispute only, according to the report.

At 9:49 a.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on National Road in St. Clairsville near East Richland Market issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags.
