At 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, a sergeant was out in the area of Chipotle on Mall Ring Road in St. Clairsville for a report of a suspicious truck blocking the roadway. The officer did not locate the truck.
At 7:12 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out at an address on National Road in Bridgeport for a report of a motor vehicle accident with property damage only near Dollar General. A motorist called to report he hit a street sign. Information was taken for a crash report.
At 6:09 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to a 911 hangup call placed from an address on Cindy Drive in St. Clairsville. The officer reported that an autistic child was playing with a phone.
At 3:23 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to an address on Johnson Bethel Road in Hendrysburg near Barnesville on a request for a welfare check on an individual. Aside from seasonal depression, all was well, according to the report. The concerned caller was contacted.
At 2:02 p.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to Walmart at the Ohio Valley Plaza in St. Clairsville after a call was received about a fight. The officer reported that this was a verbal argument only, and both parties left before he arrived.
At 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to Noon Road in Belmont for a report of an injured deer. One round was used to dispatch the injured animal, the report indicated.
At 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on High Ridge Road in Bridgeport after a 911 hangup call was received. The call was an accidental re-dial, and all was good, according to the officer.
At 3:19 a.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 westbound in St. Clairsville issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for speeding.
At 11:45 p.m. Thursday, an officer assisted St. Clairsville Police with a traffic stop on Interstate 70 east near mile marker 218 in St. Clairsville.
At 11:31 p.m. Thursday, a deputy was out at an address on Mt. Victory Road in Shadyside where a downed tree was blocking the roadway. The deputy was unable to move the tree. The officer contacted the county engineer’s department, and the estimated time of arrival to address the issue was 45 minutes, according to the report.
At 11:26 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 east near mile marker 216 in St. Clairsville issued a written warning to a Missouri truck driver for failure to signal and for driving outside of marked lanes.
At 10:49 p.m. Thursday, a complainant from Pipe Creek Road in Shadyside reported that windows were broken out of a vehicle. Officers responded and took information for a report.
At 8:28 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that she dropped her wallet in someone’s driveway in Colerain while making a delivery. The homeowner advised the caller that the wallet could be picked up on Saturday, but the caller wanted it back that night. The caller was advised by an officer that the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office cannot force the homeowner to give the property back without a court order.
At 7:31 p.m. Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a gas and oil truck was blocking traffic on Ohio 800 from the Interstate 70 eastbound ramp. An officer responded to assist with traffic control.
At 7:01 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that people in a truck were on her land and were trying to get into her garage. An officer responded. The subject – a male with an Ohio registration – will be trespassed from the caller’s residence, according to the officer.
At 6:45 p.m. Thursday, a caller from the Red Roof Inn in St. Clairsville reported that a male paid with fake money. An officer responded and took information for a report.
At 6:23 p.m. Thursday, an officer responded to Interstate 70 east at the 215 mile marker in St. Clairsville after the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a vehicle was on the off ramp blocking traffic. The responding officer reported that the Ohio vehicle was off the roadway and was unoccupied.
At 5:36 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Main Street in Bridgeport issued a verbal warning to a motorist for driving with no tail lights.
At 12:59 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on Newell Avenue in St. Clairsville on a request for a welfare check on an individual there.
At 12:45 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Virginia Street in Bethesda asked to speak with a deputy about a temporary protection order she has against a male. A deputy responded and confirmed that it was not a TPO but instead was a trespass order. Information was taken for the complaint.
At 11:54 a.m. Thursday, a sergeant responded to a request for a welfare check on a female who had reportedly exhibited strange behavior on the previous day at the St. Clairsville Health Center on National Road. The officer did not locate the female.
At 11:50 p.m. Thursday, a deputy assisted an emergency medical service squad at Abby’s Crossing on Virginia Street in Bethesda with a patient under cardiac arrest.
At 9:21 a.m. Thursday, a caller from Colerain Township stated that he came upon a red truck at a location on Negus Road in Colerain, and the motorist was dumping garbage. Deputies responded and located the vehicle on Bright Road. A sergeant spoke with the complainant, who said the male did not dump anything, but he has pictures of what was in the truck.
At 7:22 a.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on West 39th Street in Shadyside issued a warning to a California motorist for failure to yield.
