At 11:38 a.m. Monday, a motorist waved down a deputy on National Road in St. Clairsville near St. Clair Mini Storage for a car vs. deer accident. The air bag was deployed, and the vehicle sustained front-end damage. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was notified. The crash involved property damage only. The deer was located on National Road. Officials said they believed the crash may have been the noise that had been reported by a neighboring resident.

At 11:25 p.m. Monday, a female caller from an address on National Road in St. Clairsville stated that she heard a loud noise and what sounded like glass breaking. A unit patrolled the area.

At 8:53 p.m. Monday, a deputy assisted the West Virginia State Police with attempting to locate a runaway juvenile. The deputy did not locate the juvenile. The officer went back to an address on Deep Run Road in Martins Ferry for a follow-up.

At 7:15 p.m. Monday, a caller from an address on Graham Road in St. Clairsville reported that her 15-year-old daughter was being unruly. A deputy advised the complainant about what can be done and encouraged her to call back if needed.

At 6:31 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to an address on Meadow Avenue in St. Clairsville after a 911 hangup call was received. According to the report, there was an incident that was all verbal, nothing physical. The male party that was involved had left.

At 5:18 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to the Oakview Juvenile Detention Center on Oakview Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of a juvenile assaulting staff members. The issue was resolved prior to the arrival of the deputy. The juvenile was cuffed, shackled and transported to Muskingum County, according to the report.

At 5:14 p.m. Monday, officers responded to an address on Wright Road in Somerton for a report of threats made by a male. All was OK, officers noted.

At 4:10 p.m. Monday, deputies escorted a prisoner from the Belmont County Jail to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and back.

At 2:10 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to an address on Allen Avenue in Powhatan Point for a call about removing occupants from an apartment that is not leased to them. The occupants left willingly, according to the report.

At 2:01 p.m. Monday, a caller from an address on Maple Avenue in Lansing reported a DOA involving a relative. The deceased was found in the creek, according to the report. Officers responded and took information.

At 12:57 p.m. Monday, a deputy was out with a suspicious vehicle at the Barkcamp Dam in Union Township. The vehicle was unoccupied, and no one was around the vehicle, according to the officer. A deputy looked up information on the registered owner, and park officials were informed about the vehicle.

At 12:36 p.m. Monday, a deputy on a special detail performed a walk through at Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire.

At 10:55 a.m. Monday, a complainant from the Pine Lake Trailer Court in Belmont came to the station to report problems she was having with her juvenile son. A deputy spoke with the complainant and obtained a written statement.

At 7:17 a.m. Monday, the sheriff initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 470 westbound at Exit 3 in Bellaire and issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with no taillights.

At 12:48 a.m. Monday, a caller requested a welfare check on her boyfriend because she had not heard from him in more than 24 hours. Deputies responded to an address on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport and spoke with the male’s mother, but he was not there. The male’s mother said she believes the complainant was harassing her by calling law enforcement for a welfare check. The mother showed paperwork that she had a court date for a final hearing on a civil stalking protection order. A deputy called the complainant and advised her that he did not see any signs that her boyfriend was in danger, according to the report.
