At 9:42 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Dorsch Road in Martins Ferry reported that a male was there hitting the walls and making threats. Firearms and an aggressive dog were reportedly in the residence. A deputy responded and took the male to an address on Ohio Street. Officers advised the complainant on how to go about getting a protection order.
At 9:20 p.m. Thursday, a 911 hangup call was received from a cell phone, and the call went straight to voicemail upon callback. The call was pinging in the area of Pike Street and Church Street in Maynard. An officer patrolled the area, but did not locate any caller.
At 8:04 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported that a male tried to run her off the road, kicked her car and brandished a firearm before pulling into a residence somewhere near the intersection of South 26th and Patterson roads in Bethesda. Officers patrolled the area but did not come into contact with the suspect’s white truck. The suspect, who was identified via the license plate number, had an active permit to carry a concealed weapon, according to the report.
At 6:52 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 219 in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a motorist for speeding.
At 2:28 p.m. Thursday, a principal from a school in Columbus requested a welfare check on children who had not been back to school after Christmas break. Officers responded to an address on Ramsey Ridge Road in Jacobsburg. No one answered the door at the residence, and officers did not make contact with anyone, the report stated.
At 2 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Ciruddy Street in Holloway reported that his tree stand was stolen a year ago from someone else’s land, and it is now in his neighbor’s yard. All information was taken by phone and forwarded to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
At 12:34 p.m. Thursday, an anonymous caller reported possible abuse of a child at an address on Rolling Hills Lane in Shadyside. A deputy spoke with the caller via phone. Per Belmont County Children Services, deputies were to forward them a report.
At 9:08 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an address on Franklin Drive in Bridgeport for a report from mental health officials regarding possible issues with a male there. The male decided to go to the hospital with his father, according to the report.
At 8:12 a.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Dorsch Road in Martins Ferry reported that a male was at the residence, and he did not want him to be there. Officers responded and requested an emergency medical service squad for a male, who reportedly was having chest pains. The complainant was advised about legal action to remove people. He also denied an evaluation from the emergency squad.
At 12:56 a.m. Thursday, an officer responded to the Riesbeck’s parking lot to perform a welfare check on a male. The officer located the subject, and information was given to mental health professionals, the report indicated.
