Applications for oil and gas scholarship program open
PATASKALA – The Ohio Natural Energy Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 scholarship program, supporting students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry.
Each scholarship is worth $1,500 per year with a total of four years of potential eligibility. The minimum scholarship criteria include:
– Must be a U.S. citizen
– Must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry
– Must be an Ohio resident OR student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited Ohio college, university, technical or trade school
– Must have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
“The next generation will play a critical role in the natural gas and oil industry,” said Bruce Tague, Executive Director of the Ohio Natural Energy Institute and Foundation. “We are proud to support students with career ambitions in our essential industry.”
To apply, students must complete the application, submit letters of recommendation, a resume, and official transcript by March 1. Every application is thoroughly evaluated and scored by a review committee.
Since 2007, the Foundation has awarded 736 scholarships totaling $760,000 to 448 students from 75 counties in Ohio.
