Highlands Sports Complex to host spring craft show
WHEELING – After weeks of snow drifts, gray skies and barren landscape, a colorful event is set to bloom late next month at The Highlands Sports Complex.
A spring craft show, organized by KC Productions, will take place March 27-29 at the complex. Doors on Friday and Saturday will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the hours on Sunday are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
At least 130 vendors will be present, with up to 150 spaces available, according to Kevin Carroll of KC Productions.
He is happy to say he has actually had to turn some sellers away from the event.
“We pride ourselves on having such a variety,” Carroll said. “Some things (retail opportunities) are closed out so we don’t have too many of the same items.”
There will be some new and unique items being offered by the vendors at the craft show, as well as some from returning vendors. Among them are Carroll’s “Touch of Amish” offerings, wood jewelry, primitive crafts, and creations for spring and summer.
“It’s time we get over this (winter) and start thinking about warmer weather,” Carroll said.
“We will have stuff for plant people and indoor plants. There also will be food vendors, cookies and popcorn.”
KC Productions also organizes the popular “Christmas At The Highlands” in late fall, believed to be the largest craft show in West Virginia.
While the spring craft show doesn’t have as many vendors, “we tend to be the largest spring craft show in the area,” Carroll said.
Admission to the event is $3 to help cover the cost of renting the facility, he added.
