Malaga Garden Center & Landscaping Opens Community Nominations for Free Landscaping Project

MALAGA — Malaga Garden Center & Landscaping is once again giving back to the community by offering a free landscaping project to an individual, family, nonprofit or local business in need — and the public is invited to help choose the recipient.

This marks the third consecutive year the locally-owned business has hosted the initiative. In previous years, the project benefited a local church and a family experiencing hardship. The goal is to continue the program as a yearly community tradition focused on service, generosity, and local pride.

Community members are encouraged to submit nominations through a short online form. Nominations may include a friend, family member, neighbor, nonprofit organization or local business in need of a landscaping refresh or improvement — including self-nominations.

“We may not have the advertising budgets of large corporations, but we do have skilled workers, hard work ethic and a deep love for this community,” said owner Larissa Jones. “This project allows us to give back in a hands-on way by using our talents to make a lasting difference for someone who truly needs it.”

Nominations are open now and will close on March 1, with the selected recipient announced by the end of March. To nominate someone, simply complete the Google Form and share contact information, a photo of the area, and a short note explaining why this project would make a difference.

The selected recipient will be contacted directly by email. Photos of the completed project may be shared on social media.

Residents are encouraged to share the nomination announcement to help spread the word and ensure as many deserving individuals and organizations as possible are considered.

Malaga Garden Center & Landscaping serves Woodsfield, Barnesville, Beallsville, Lewisville, St. Clairsville, Sardis, Caldwell and surrounding communities, offering landscaping services along with a garden center, floral shop, and gift shop.
