At 11:26 p.m. Monday, officers assisted Bridgeport Police with a traffic stop near Rent a Center on Main Street in Bridgeport.

At 11:03 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to the Belmont County Jail to take a report about an inmate assaulting two corrections officers. Myreik Trevette Fryson of Corrugated Way, Columbus, was already in jail awaiting arraignment on counts of contempt and failure to appear on a theft charge.

At 8:20 p.m. Monday, deputies assisted Bridgeport Police on a traffic stop on National Road at the Ohio 7 overpass involving suspected shoplifters at Walmart.

At 8:10 p.m. Monday, a manager from Walmart in St. Clairsville reported that two individuals took items while Spark shopping. Bridgeport Police stopped their vehicle. The male turned items over to the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy was en route to Walmart with the items, and information was taken for a report.

At 7:01 p.m. Monday, a caller from Kroger on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville reported that a male was yelling at customers outside the business. Deputies responded and reported that everything was OK. It was a misunderstanding, the report stated.

At 4:22 p.m. Monday, a deputy was on the scene of a reported DOA at an address on Key-Bellaire Road in Bellaire. At 4:33 p.m., the officer noted that an emergency medical service squad would be transporting the individual, who reportedly had a pulse. At 4:35 p.m., the DOA was confirmed, and the sheriff’s office was not needed, according to the report.

At 3:13 p.m. Monday, a deputy took a report for a motor vehicle accident with property damage only at an address on Adolph Street and Orchard Avenue in Bridgeport. Drivers exchanged information.

At 2:37 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of domestic trouble at an address in Barton. A juvenile caller reported that her stepdad was putting his hands on her. The male left prior to officers’ arrival. Information was taken for a report.

At 1:58 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to an address on North Bridge Street in Belmont for a report of a truck blocking the road.

At 1:45 p.m. Monday, a student at the Belmont Career Center was taken into custody per the juvenile probation officer. The student was in possession of a nicotine vape device. The principal requested charges for destruction of school property and damage purposefully done to an issued Chromebook, according to the report.

At 12:44 p.m. Monday, an officer on a traffic stop on National Road in St. Clairsville issued a written warning about expired tags.

At 11:45 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that a suspicious male had been trespassing on his property on Main Street in Lloydsville several times in the last few weeks. Information was taken for a report.

At 11:45 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that her friend who resides on Boyd Ridge Road was being taken advantage of financially. People living with her have been taking her money and her food stamps, according to the caller. An officer followed up and spoke with the female, who said she was not being taken advantage of and that she has all of her money.

At 10:47 a.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Stone House Place on National Road in Bridgeport for a report of a male in the lobby acting crazy. An emergency medical service squad was requested, and the male left with the squad.

At 10:35 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an address on Willow Grove Road after Dollar General on Pike Street in Neffs reported a shoplifter had left the store about 10 minutes prior. One male was detained. Information was taken, and the male was released.

At 8:16 p.m. Monday, a caller from McGregor Hill Road in Bellaire reported that residents there blocked the roadway, making it impassable for other vehicles. A deputy responded and reported that the road appeared to be passable and that the vehicle was as far off the road as they could get because of the snow.

At 4:37 a.m. Monday, a caller reported that a suspicious male was walking on Deep Run Road in Martins Ferry. The caller was concerned for the male’s safety in the cold weather. Deputies responded but did not locate the male.

At 2:41 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to Interstate 470 east near mile marker 3 in Bellaire on a request for assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which was out with a Greyhound bus that “may be housing several gang members and someone with a ‘hit’ on them,” according to the report. An EMS was called to transport one male to the hospital. Deputies cleared.

At 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol called to request assistance on Interstate 470 east in St. Clairsville for a tractor trailer fire. Officers responded. At 11:22 p.m., the fire was out, according to the report.

At 6:31 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy assisted an individual with getting his cart into his yard near Pizza Express on National Road in Bridgeport.

At 1:58 p.m. Tuesday, Barnesville Police relayed information regarding potential physical abuse involving at a location in Washington Township a student at Barnesville Elementary School. A deputy spoke with an officer to obtain information. The deputy also spoke with Child Protective Service and would be forwarding a report to them for their review.

At 1:39 p.m. Tuesday, an officer on a special detail was out at Bridgeport Schools on Industrial Drive in Bridgeport.

At 1:01 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire.

At 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy was out at an address on Brands Run Road in Alledonia after a caller reported that a suspicious male came to her house looking for a rental and got stuck in the driveway of another house. The officer went to an address on Alledonia-Crabapple Road. The truck had left after getting assistance from people in two other vehicles. There were no footprints observed around the house, according to the report.

At 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to the Ohio State Highway Patrol office to meet a caller in reference to a 911 call and an incident that happened at Oil City. Information was taken for a report. St. Clairsville Police units were also involved, according to the report.

At 12:06 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Belaire Middle School on Neffs-Bellaire Road in Bellaire.

At 11:49 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a traffic stop near Riesbeck’s Plaza in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a motorist for turning left on red.

At 11:07 a.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Bellaire High School on 35th Street in Bellaire.

At 8:27 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a special detail responded to an address on West Captina Highway in Alledonia for a welfare check on a male who had not been to school since Jan. 13. The male’s mother could not be reached by phone according to the report. The deputy spoke with a family member at the address. The missing male did not live there.

At 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy patrolled the school zone at Bellaire Middle School on Neffs-Bellaire Road in Bellaire.

At 10:13 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy assisted on a welfare check for a Swiss Hills student at an address in York Township. The deputy gathered contact information for the mother and father.

At 7:09 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Main Street in Martins Ferry reported finding a neighbor deceased in the driveway. Martins Ferry emergency medical service arrived and confirmed the DOA. Officers responded to the scene, along with a representative of the county coroner’s office. Information was gathered for a report.

At 3:29 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Monroe Street in Shadyside reported that a vehicle with West Virginia plates was sideways in the roadway. The vehicle was in a snow bank, and no one was around, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was notified. The driver, an Ohio motorist, was located down the street at his residence. The driver was cited for failure to control and was advised that Bill’s Towing had the vehicle. Information was taken for a crash report.
