At 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to the Ohio State Highway Patrol office to meet a caller in reference to a 911 call and an incident that happened at Oil City. Information was taken for a report. St. Clairsville Police units were also involved, according to the report.

At 12:06 p.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Belaire Middle School on Neffs-Bellaire Road in Bellaire.

At 11:49 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a traffic stop near Riesbeck’s Plaza in St. Clairsville issued a warning to a motorist for turning left on red.

At 11:07 a.m. Tuesday, a sergeant on a special detail was out at Bellaire High School on 35th Street in Bellaire.

At 8:27 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy on a special detail responded to an address on West Captina Highway in Alledonia for a welfare check on a male who had not been to school since Jan. 13. The male’s mother could not be reached by phone according to the report. The deputy spoke with a family member at the address. The missing male did not live there.

At 7:31 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy patrolled the school zone at Bellaire Middle School on Neffs-Bellaire Road in Bellaire.

At 10:13 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy assisted on a welfare check for a Swiss Hills student at an address in York Township. The deputy gathered contact information for the mother and father.

At 7:09 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from an address on Main Street in Martins Ferry reported finding a neighbor deceased in the driveway. Martins Ferry emergency medical service arrived and confirmed the DOA. Officers responded to the scene, along with a representative of the county coroner’s office. Information was gathered for a report.

At 3:29 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Monroe Street in Shadyside reported that a vehicle with West Virginia plates was sideways in the roadway. The vehicle was in a snow bank, and no one was around, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was notified. The driver, an Ohio motorist, was located down the street at his residence. The driver was cited for failure to control and was advised that Bill’s Towing had the vehicle. Information was taken for a crash report.
