At 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from an address on Dunfee Road in Belmont came to the station to report one of his checks that he sent to Capitol One had the name changed and was cashed. A deputy spoke with the complainant, and information was taken for a theft report.

At 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff performed a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 216 in Richland Township and issued a warning to a motorist for texting and driving.

At 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out at the Bridgeport Police Department on Main Street in Bridgeport taking information about a theft that was reported by a complainant who lives outside of their corporation.

At 1:54 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to a call from a resident of Hope Chapel Road in Bellaire about a scam via an identity theft call. The complainant needed a call record for reporting purposes.

At 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Pipe Creek Road in Jacobsburg for a report of people sending harassing messages to get money in regard to the husband’s estranged son.

At 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on East Main Street in St. Clairsville reported an attempted real estate scam.

At 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with a disabled semi stuck in the road on Armstrong-Centerville Road in Jacobsburg. The truck was on its way, according to the report.

At 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, an officer was out with a disabled vehicle on Willow Grove Road in St. Clairsville. The vehicle was pushed off of the roadway.

At 10:12 a.m. Wednesday, an officer on a special detail was out at Powhatan Elementary School on Mt. Victory Road in Powhatan Point.

At 10:04 a.m. Wednesday, a sergeant on a special detail performed a walk through at Bellaire Elementary School on Pike Street in Bellaire.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, an officer on a special detail was out at Bellaire High School on 35th Street in Bellaire.

At 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to an address on Main Street in Morristown for a report of a female being violent toward staff. The female went with a squad, according to the report.

At 7:28 a.m. Wednesday, an officer was out on traffic detail in the school zone along Belmont-Morristown Road near Union Local High School.

At 7:19 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out on traffic detail in a school zone at Bridgeport Schools on Industrial Drive in Bridgeport.

At 7:17 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out on traffic detail in a school zone at Bellaire Middle School on Neffs-Bellaire Road in Bellaire.

At 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a structure fire with possible entrapment at an address on Methodist Ridge Road in St. Clairsville. While en route to the scene, officers were informed that all residents were accounted for. The fire department arrived on the scene as well, and residents searched for two dogs.

At 12:44 a.m. Wednesday, an officer responded to an address on Pleasant Grove Road in Martins Ferry for a one-car motor vehicle accident with injury. The Ohio State Highway Patrol subsequently took over the scene.

At 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, a caller from an address on Crescent Road in St. Clairsville reported that she was struck in the face by her boyfriend. Officers responded to the scene. Information was taken for a report.
