PERI Chapter 79 to meet
The Belmont County Chapter #79 of the Ohio Public Employee Retirees, Inc., bi-monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 18, at the Ohio Valley Mall Community Room, 67800 Mall Ring Road, St. Clairsville, OH. Kathryn Metz with the Ohio Consumer’s Counsel will be our guest speaker.

MARTINS FERRY — Martins Ferry City Council will meet on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the City Building. The meeting is open to the public.
Martins Ferry BOE to meet
MARTINS FERRY — The Board of Education of the Martins Ferry City School District will be holding a Special Board Meeting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Martins Ferry City School District Administrative Building Board Room. The Special Board Meeting will include an executive session with respect to a public employee, or official’s employment and other matters required to be confidential by federal law or regulations or state statutes, required Auditor of State Fraud Training for Board members and the 2025-2026 OAPSE contract which action will be taken on.

Belmont County Family and Children First Council is scheduled to meet on Monday, March 9,. The meeting will be held at 10:30 am and located at Belmont County Department of Job and Family Services, 68145 Hammond Rd., St. Clairsville, OH, 43950. This meeting is open to the public. Monroe BDD to meet
Monroe County Board of Developmental Disabilities has scheduled the regular meeting of the Board for Monday at 6 p.m. at Monroe County Board of DD administrative office. This meeting is open to the public.
Smith Township VFD Fish Fry
CENTERVILLE — The Smith Township Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry season will begin Feb. 20 at the fire station in Centerville (behind the Family Market). Dinners are served from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., every Friday until Good Friday. Orders can be placed beginning at noon, by calling 740-686-2150. Fish, chicken and shrimp will be offered. Social media will not be monitored for orders. Donations of baked goods are always accepted. For information call Patty at 740-310-0944.
Belmont County Cleanups announced
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The JB Green Team 2026 Community Cleanups have been set and are open to the residents of Belmont and Jefferson Counties. The first cleanup in Belmont County will be on March 7 at Wheeling Township Garage in Fairpoint. Large household junk items such as furniture, grills and large plastic toys will be collected as will standard-sized tires. By law, residents are only allowed to haul 10 tires at a time. Those who come with large amounts of tires will not be accepted. Also, liquids, yard waste or hazardous waste materials will not be accepted. Electronics can be taken to the specified drop-off locations in each county. To find the closest location, please visit jbgreenteam.org/e-waste-drop-off-pilot-program. After the designated dates for e-waste collection, electronics will only be collected at the Warren Township collection on May 2 and at the Union Township collection only on Sept. 19. The hazardous waste collection will be scheduled at a later date. All cleanups will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you have questions, please call the Belmont County office at 740-296-5376.
Tri-County Water Authority report available
HARRISVILLE — The annual financial report of the Tri-County Water Authority for the Fiscal Year 2025, has been completed and is available for public inspection at the water office, located at 49350 Main Street, Harrisville, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to noon or 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. A copy of the report will be provided upon request.
Flushing Township announce meetings
FLUSHING — Flushing Township Trustees will hold all 2026 regular meetings the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Flushing Township Garage. If a meeting date needs to be rescheduled, the public will be informed.
Bridgeport BOE sets 2026 calendar
BRIDGEPORT — The Bridgeport Exempted Village School District’s Calendar Year 2026 Board of Education Meetings on the following dates: March 11, April 15, and May 13 at 6 p.m at the District Administration Office and June 30, July 22, Aug. 12, Aug. 26, Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16 at 4:30 p.m in the Bridgeport High School Media Center.
United Steelworkers meeting scheduled
MARTINS FERRY – The United Steelworkers S.O.A.R. Chapter 23-9 will have their monthly meeting Wednesday, June 4, at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Martins Ferry at 10 a.m.
Insurance representatives will be available to answer any questions. A guest speaker from the Belmont County Young Democrats will give a presentation. All retirees and their significant others are welcome to attend. Following the meeting, light refreshments will be available.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Mental Health and Recovery Board announced its FY2025 Annual Board Report is available. County Land Reutilization Corp to meet
Belmont County Land Reutilization Corporation will hold its monthly meeting on Monday April 13 at 1 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Belmont County Board of Commissioner’s meeting room at the Belmont County courthouse and is open to the public.
