At 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, an officer on a traffic stop near the Marathon in Colerain Township issued a warning to a West Virginia motorist for an equipment violation.

At 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, an anonymous caller reported that a neighbor at the Belmont Heights Apartments on Blaine-Chermont Road in Bridgeport either had a TV turned up or had music playing too loud despite a noise ordinance. A deputy responded and walked around outside the area but did not near anything abnormally loud. The caller will have to file a noise complaint with management, according to the officer.

At 9:03 p.m. Wednesday, officers on a traffic stop on Belmont Street in Bellaire issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for failure to signal and for an obstructed plate. A search of the vehicle was performed with no findings, the report stated.

At 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, units responded to an address in Belmont for a welfare check on a juvenile with a history of mental health issues at the request of a school social worker. Contact was made with the juvenile, her mother and grandfather. Adults were made aware of the situation, and the juvenile was not at risk of harm, according to the officer.

At 7:06 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out with a suspicious male behind the M@C Bids store on National Road in Bridgeport.

At 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to an address on Berkley Avenue in Bridgeport on a request for a well check on two individuals. A male there was fine, but the female in question was not there.

At 3:04 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to an address on Colerain Pike in Martins Ferry to assist emergency squad personnel with a patient who had a past history of violence.

At 1:34 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported finding a deceased individual at an address on East Captina Highway in Powhatan Point. Officers responded. Information was gathered for a report.

At 11:26 a.m. Wednesday, a 911 call was received from an address on Dorsch Road in Martins Ferry. Screaming and yelling could be heard in the background. Deputies responded. A dispatcher spoke with a male there. Martins Ferry Police also responded. Police gave a male there a ride to town, according to the report.

At 11:20 .m. Wednesday, emergency medical service personnel requested law enforcement to do a well check at an address in Bridgeport because of a dispute. A deputy responded and reported that the patient — the complainant — was transported to Trinity Hospital in St. Clairsville. A deputy responded to the hospital and spoke with the complainant. She explained a situation of being transferred from hospital to hospital in West Virginia, then being discharged to go live with her sister at the Bridgeport address. There was a disagreement between all parties, and she was left in a wheelchair in the rain before being taken to Trinity. A deputy spoke with a representative of Adult Protective Services.

At 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a deer in the middle of the road on Pipe Creek Road in Shadyside needed to be put down. A deputy responded and put down the deer with one round.

At 6:49 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a female having a seizure at an address on Colerain Pike in Martins Ferry, and dispatch advised that EMS requests law enforcement when going to this residence because the patient has been combative. Officers responded, and the patient refused treatment, according to the report.

At 6:26 a.m. Wednesday, a caller from Patterson Hill Road in Bellaire reported that she was away from the residence and a neighbor reported that a light was on inside her residence that should not be on. Officers responded and found everything to be secure.

At 6:04 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported that a male was found unresponsive in a vehicle outside of Walmart in the Ohio Valley Plaza, St. Clairsville. The male was having a diabetic emergency, according to the report. Dispatch reported that the male normally gets combative, the report stated. Deputies responded, and the male was transported to the hospital by EMS.

At 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, a sergeant at the Belmont County Jail reported an assault. A deputy responded and obtained information for a report.

At 11:44 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to an address on Boyd Ridge Road in Bellaire for a report of a breaking and entering. A caller reported that someone broke into a garage and stole items. Information was taken for a report.

At 11:03 p.m. Thursday, officers on a traffic stop on South Lincoln Avenue near Howard Street in Bridgeport issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for a headlight violation and for driving with expired tags.

At 10:47 p.m. Thursday, a detective on a traffic stop on Lincoln Avenue in Martins Ferry issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for driving with expired tags.

At 10:27 p.m. Thursday, an officer on a traffic stop on Interstate 70 eastbound near mile marker 220 issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for speeding.

At 10:14 p.m. Thursday, a deputy assisted units from the Bridgeport Police Department on a traffic stop near Gumby’s on Main Street in Bridgeport.

At 9:49 p.m. Thursday, units on a traffic stop on Walnut Street in Martins Ferry reported that drug paraphernalia was discovered in the pocket of a male with a suspended driver’s license. A warning was issued to the driver for driving under suspension, a faulty license plate light, driving with expired tags and failure to use a turn signal within 100 feet, according to the report. One male was taken to jail. Drugs were found all over the back seat of the cruiser which tested positive for cocaine or fentanyl, the report stated. Justin Lasean Smith was booked into the Belmont County Jail on charges of failure to appear on a drug paraphernalia charge, possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

At 9:47 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on 28th Street in Bellaire near Kroger issued a warning to an Ohio motorist for improper display.

At 9:46 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to Walmart on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville for a report of a shoplifting incident. Information was taken about suspects.

At 8:57 p.m. Thursday, a detective responded to an address on McCutcheon Road in Triadelphia after Ohio County 911 in West Virginia requested a K-9.

At 7:31 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported hearing screaming, yelling and vehicles revving from an address on Oak Street in Bethesda. The area was patrolled by an officer, but no noises were heard. The officer reported that she would do extra patrols.

At 7:29 p.m. Thursday, a detective on a traffic stop near Cracker Barrel on Mall Road in St. Clairsville obtained consent to search a vehicle but found nothing, the report stated. A written warning was issued to an Ohio motorist for improper lane change and for an expired driver’s license.

At 7:13 p.m. Thursday, an officer reported that a male took cards from Tilt at the Ohio Valley Mall but gave them back. The male was in a vehicle who had a knife on him, according to the complainant. Units from the sheriff’s office and the St. Clairsville Police Department responded. They spoke with a male with an expired Arizona operator’s license. He had a warrant out of Colorado with in-state pickup only. The male and his female companion were advised they were not allowed back in the mall.

At 7:02 p.m. Thursday, a deputy on a traffic stop on Guernsey Street at 32nd Street in Bellaire issued a written warning to a motorist for a stop sign violation.

At 6:12 p.m. Thursday, a detective on a traffic stop on 41st Street in Bellaire near the Circle K issued a warning to a motorist for stop sign and turn signal violations.

At 4:34 p.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to an address on Absolam Drive in Martins Ferry for a report of a vehicle that slid into a yard. The car was unstuck, according to the report.

At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address on Heather Lane in Flushing reported that a male had been harassing her off and on over the past year. The caller was advised on how to obtain a civil protection order and was advised to call central dispatch if the male shows up at her residence.

At 1:59 p.m. Thursday, a caller from an address in Shadyside reported that she had a 17-year-old female runaway at her residence, and she wanted her to be removed. The juvenile was a friend of the complainant’s granddaughter. The caller had been letting the girl, who is from Massillon, Ohio, stay there since September. The girl’s guardian gave her permission to live there, but the caller did not want her to be there any longer. The guardian did not have transportation to come get her. A deputy contacted Child Protective Services, which was to be in contact with officials in Stark County to arrange transportation. The caller agreed to allow the juvenile to stay there until arrangements were made.

At 10:37 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a location on Pipe Creek Road in Shadyside after a 911 hangup call was received with a busy signal upon callback. The correct address was on Tomlinson Run Road, according to the officer, who reported that all was well at that location.

At 9:25 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported that one of their fleet drivers was being threatened by a gas station employee at a fuel plaza on Barnesville-Hendrysburg Road in Barnesville. A deputy responded. The officer gave a male a ride to Bridgeport so he could walk to Wheeling, according to the report, which stated that this dispute was all verbal and neither party wished to do anything.

At 2:37 a.m. Thursday, a 911 call with static on the line was received from an address on West Pipecreek Road in Jacobsburg. An officer responded and reported that there were multiple lights on at the residence, but she did not come into contact with anyone. Central dispatch made contact with the caller, who stated that she was OK. There may have been phone issues because of the weather, according to the report.

At 1:21 a.m. Thursday, an officer on a special detail performed a walk through at Walmart on Valley Plaza Drive in St. Clairsville.
