At 11:52 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Hope Chapel Road in Bellaire reported that he believed someone was in his house while he was at work. An officer responded but did not locate anything suspicious.

At 10:54 p.m. Sunday, a caller from Sheetz on Addie Way in St. Clairsville reported that a male had been beating on his window and trying to get into his vehicle. The male left, but the caller wanted to see a deputy. A deputy responded and took information for a report. The nature of the incident was listed as threats or harassment.

At 10:52 p.m. Sunday, units responded to a domestic complaint at the Days Inn West on Holiday Drive in St. Clairsville. The dispute was all verbal, according to the report.

At 10 p.m. Sunday, a complainant from an address on Burwood Drive in St. Clairsville called back to issue another complaint about loud music. A deputy spoke with a male who was inside of his car sleeping with the music still playing. He turned off the music and was going inside, according to the report.

At 9:09 p.m. Sunday, an officer on a traffic stop on Mall Road in St. Clairsville issued a warning for an equipment violation to a Texas motorist.

At 8:42 p.m. Sunday, a caller from an address on Burwood Drive in St. Clairsville issued a noise complaint. There were 10 cars at the house playing loud music, according to the caller. A deputy made contact with the owner of the neighboring address, and he was going to turn down the music.

At 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a deputy responded to Reco Road in Belmont for a motor vehicle accident with property damage only. A semi hit and tore the mailboxes out of the ground by Sleep Inn and then got stuck, according to the report. Bill’s Towing was called to the scene. Sleep Inn was contacted, and information was taken for a crash report.

At 7:33 p.m. Sunday, Bellaire Police had reportedly been looking for a male, and someone called to report that he was in the bathroom at Circle K doing drugs. Officers arrived in case assistance was needed. No incident occurred, according to the report.

At 6:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported he was staying with friends at three different locations before going to Idaho for a month, and when he returned, they had stolen his items and would not give them back. A deputy requested receipts for the stolen items and was to follow up when more information was available, the report indicated.

At 4:36 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported that the starter broke in his Jeep while at Seven Creeks in Washington Township. He left the vehicle unattended to get spare parts, and when he returned shortly afterward, he found his Jeep fully engulfed in flames. The caller said he believed it to be arson.

At 1:27 p.m. Sunday, a caller from the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a male in a vehicle parked at Sheetz on Addie Way in St. Clairsville was seen drinking alcohol while in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. An officer responded but did not locate the male.

At 8:42 p.m. Sunday, a 911 call was received from an address in St. Clairsville with no one on the line speaking. A television could be heard in the background. According to the report, all was well. The call was placed by kids playing on the phone.

At 2:38 p.m. Sunday, a caller at the 208 Fuel Plaza on Belmont-Morristown Road in Belmont reported that a male in a vehicle was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle with Kentucky plates that was parked at the gas pumps. The caller said she believed it was an overdose. Deputies responded and canceled an emergency medical service squad after speaking with the male, who said his vehicle was broken down at the pumps and he was looking at his phone waiting for a tow truck.

At 6:20 a.m. Sunday, a manager at Tom’s Carry Out on Ohio 7 in Powhatan Point stated there was a male in a car who was possibly not breathing. A deputy responded and spoke to the male. He was sleeping, according to the report. His sister was coming to pick him up. An EMS was canceled.

Saturday April 4, 2026

06:32 am. Officers responded to the 400 Block of Madison St for a male causing a disturbance. Officers determined everything was okay at the residence.

10:43 am. Officers responded to the 900 Block of Broadway St for a report of dogs running at large. Officers had negative contact.

10:55 am. Officers responded to a parking complaint on the 800 Block of Carlisle St. The vehicle left prior to police arrival. Officers cleared.

12:54 pm. Officers responded to the 400 Block of Aetna St for a crash detection alarm. Officers checked the area, however they had negative contact.

02:00 pm. Officers responded to the 100 Block of Virginia St for a parking complaint. The vehicle was moved. Officers cleared.

03:33 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Hanover St. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.

04:46 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on the 400 Block of Aetna St. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for a speed violation.

05:15 pm. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a traffic stop on State Route 7 near N Lincoln Ave.

06:55 pm. Officers responded to a parking complaint on S Zane Hwy near Hickory St. The vehicle was moved. Officers cleared.

06:57 pm. Officers were out on the 800 Block of Indiana St to retrieve an abandoned bicycle.

07:44 pm. Officers responded to the 800 Block of Indiana St for a parking complaint on an abandoned vehicle. Naylor’s Towing was contacted. Officers cleared.

08:08 pm. Officers responded to the 600 Block of Clinton St for a report of a male having a mental health crisis. Bridgeport EMS was requested to transport the male to the hospital. Officers followed EMS to the hospital. Officers cleared.

20:57 pm. Martins Ferry PD assisted Bridgeport PD with a traffic stop on State Route 7 near Hanover St.

20:58 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near Aetna St. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for expired registration. Officers released the vehicle to a valid driver.

10:03 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on State Route 7 near County Rd 4. The driver was identified as a female. A verbal warning was issued for a speed violation.

10:04 pm. Officers were out at the City Park and advised individuals that the park was closed after dark. Officers cleared.

10:57 pm. A traffic stop was initiated on the 400 Block of Aetna St. The driver was identified as a male. A written citation was issued for expired registration, and a verbal warning was issued for a u-turn violation.

Thursday April 2, 2026

01:44 am. Officers were out on N 4th St near Hanover St with a suspicious male. Officers determined the male was on his way home from work. Officers cleared.

05:23 am. Officers were out on the 300 Block of Hanover St for a male threatening to physically harm a female. The male left prior to police arrival. Officers will review camera footage at a later date, and a statement form was left with female to fill out if she wished to pursue charges.

09:12 am. Officers were out on the 600 Block of S Zane Hwy regarding a previous incident.

09:32 am. Officers were out on the 500 Block of School St regarding a chalked vehicle. The vehicle owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved. Officers cleared.

10:40 am. Officers responded to the 400 Block of Aetna for a minor two-vehicle accident with no injuries. All the information was taken for a report, and the driver of the striking unit was issued a written citation for failure to yield.

10:41 am. A female was on station for an interview with an officer regarding an ongoing investigation.

11:32 am. Officers were out on the 1400 Block of N 7th St for a building permit check. Officers had negative contact, and it appeared no construction was being done in the area.

11:46 am. Officers were out on the 1500 Block of N 9th St for a welfare check on a male. Officers made contact and everything was fine.

12:36 pm. Martins Ferry Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the 400 Block of N 1st St for a contained structure fire. Multiple roads were blocked off to ensure Martins Ferry Fire and EMS were able to get to the building. The fire was put out, and Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration were contacted for the ventilation and cleaning process of the building. All units cleared.

02:45 pm. Officers responded to the 500 Block of N 7th St regarding a parking complaint. Officers had negative contact with the vehicle, however spoke with the original caller and advised them of the situation. Officers cleared.

04:06 pm. A male and female came on station to speak with an officer regarding an abandoned residence on the 400 Block of N 5th St. Officers will do extra patrols.

04:12 pm. A male and female came on station to speak with an officer regarding a civil issue.

04:23 pm. Officers responded to Jaycee Manor Parking Lot for a report of a physical altercation between two males. Upon arrival, officers made contact with one of the males and were informed that the second male involved fled the scene in a red truck with a weapon inside the vehicle. A description of the male and vehicle were given out over the radio and Bridgeport Police were able to initiate a felony traffic stop on the vehicle on the 400 Block of Aetna St. A felony stop was made on this vehicle for safety reasons due to the report of the male having a weapon. EMS was requested to evaluate both males’ injuries from the altercation. One male was treated on scene, while the other was transported to the hospital. This incident is still under investigation.

04:57 pm. Officers were out on Euclid Ave near S Zane Hwy for a report of a manhole cover off a sewer drain. The service director was contacted, and the appropriate resources were contacted to replace the cover. Officers cleared.

05:16 pm. Officers were out on N Zane Hwy near Hanover St for a report of a male in the area that allegedly escaped a local rehabilitation center. Dispatch contacted the local rehabilitation center and informed the officers that the male signed himself out and was allowed to return before midnight. The male was not a threat to himself or others. Officers cleared.

05:25 pm. Officers were out on the 200 Block of N 7th St after receiving a call for a female with an active warrant inside the residence. Officers determined the warrant was not extraditable. Officers cleared.

06:27 pm. Officers were out on the 500 Block of Spence Ln for a welfare check on a male. Officers made contact and everything was fine. Officers cleared.

07:52 pm. Officers were out on the 200 Block of N 7th St regarding a possible dog attack. Officers determined no animals were harmed and informed all individuals about the leash laws. Officers cleared.

08:07 pm. Officers were out on the 500 Block of Grant Ave regarding a parking complaint on a vehicle blocking an alleyway. Officers had negative contact.

09:02 pm. Bridgeport and Martins Ferry Police were out on the 500 Block of Crawford St speaking to a male regarding a previous incident.

09:49 pm. Martins Ferry Police assisted Bridgeport Police with a suspicious person report on the Aetnaville Bridge.

11:39 pm. Martins Ferry K9 was requested to assist Bridgeport Police with a free air sniff of a vehicle at a traffic stop. Martins Ferry K9 had a negative indication. Officers cleared.
