Bridgeport BOE to meet in special session
BRIDGEPORT -- The Bridgeport Exempted Village School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. July 8 at the Bridgeport Administration Office, 55781 National Road. The purpose of the meeting is to hire employees for open positions.
Yorkville produce distribution dates set for 2026
YORKVILLE -- The Yorkville Produce Distribution has released its 2026 schedule, with monthly distributions planned Saturdays from April through October.
New directors Robbie Criss and Ronica Criss, along with their four daughters, announced the schedule and apologized for the late notice, noting it is their first time serving in the role. They said they are working under the guidance of Pastor David Forsythe of Gateway Apostolic Church.
Distribution dates are July 11, August 8, Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Flushing Twp. meetings scheduled
FLUSHING -- Flushing Township trustees will hold regular meetings at 7 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month in 2026 at the Flushing Township Garage. If a meeting date is rescheduled, the public will be notified.

Smith Twp. trustees to meetings
SMITHFIELD -- The Smith Township Board of Trustees will hold two meetings on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Smith Township Park in Smithfield.
The meetings include a 5:30 p.m. annual 2027 budget review session, followed by the regular monthly trustee meeting at 6 p.m.

Smith Twp. Community Day set
SMITH TOWNSHIP -- The Smith Township Volunteer Fire Department and Smith Township Community Center will host a Community Day on Saturday, July 18, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 225th anniversary of Belmont County.
The event will include a vendor and craft show, car cruise-in, parade, food vendors, games and family activities throughout the day.

Brunch on the Farm set
BLOOMINGDALE -- The second annual Jefferson County Brunch on the Farm will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mercer Farms.
The event will feature wagon tours, agricultural demonstrations, hands-on exhibits, a kids' zone and local food vendors, highlighting modern farming practices and conservation education.
