Small step taken in EGCC transfer to Youngstown State University

STEUBENVILLE — A small step has been taken in the conversion of Eastern Gateway Community College’s Steubenville campus as a branch of Youngstown State University. Following their meeting Tuesday, the Jefferson County commissioners announced three former EGCC employees who had remained to monitor and maintain the Steubenville campus are now YSU employees. The commissioners said the three include a maintenance worker, security guard and information technology specialist whose pay had been covered by the Ohio Department of Education since October. WHEELING — An online auction of Oglebay Park Resort and Wilson Lodge’s surplus items will take place at Joerpyleauctions.com on today at 6 p.m. Auctioneer John Powell said that because Oglebay is a public entity it isn’t able to just give any vehicles away. “They have to dispose of the auction so that’s what they’re doing. Shooting leads to victim in stable but critical condition and shooter dead

WHEELING — An early morning shooting Saturday led to one victim in stable but critical condition, a pursuit, and the shooter dead by self-inflicted gunshot. Ohio County deputies were called to the Triadelphia area due to a victim being shot around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
