Wellsburg hires Erica Tamburin as city manager

WELLSBURG — The City of Wellsburg will begin 2026 with a new city manager and new legal counsel. Mayor Dan Dudley said council voted 5-0 to hire Erica Tamburin, former village administrator of Shadyside, Ohio and a Wellsburg resident, to serve as city manager. Dudley said the move came at the second of two meetings held to interview candidates for the position, with Tamburin one of four selected for the final round of interviews. MOUNDSVILLE — The teacher accused of strangling a non-verbal autistic McNinch Primary School student no longer works for Marshall County Schools, according to schools Superintendent Shelby Haines. Meanwhile, the school’s principal and school district’s special programs director currently “are not working” in the district as the investigation continues. Chevy Chase event at Capitol Theatre canceled

WHEELING — The scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 9, show at the Capitol Theatre in Wheeling featuring A Live Conversation with Chevy Chase following a screening of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” has been cancelled. Officials on Monday stated that they were informed that the cancellation was “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.” Refunds will be automatically issued at the point of sale. The promoter issued “apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.”
