A man was killed around 9 a.m. Sunday in a single-vehicle crash near Washington Township in Belmont County.
Vic Rataiczak, 34 of Beallsville apparently failed to negotiate a turn while driving along Saffell Church Road around 9:05 a.m. Rataiczak was said to have gone off the left side of the road and struck a tree, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He was declared dead at the scene.
Police say Rataiczak was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
