Accident blocks traffic on Interstate 70 west in St. Clairsville
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Traffic on Interstate 70 west is at a standstill on Monday evening after a collision occurred that involves multiple vehicles.
An Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher said the westbound lanes of the highway were shut down in response to the crash, which occurred around 5:45 p.m. The accident happened near mile marker 217 and the exit to Ohio 9.
A “couple of people” have been transported from the scene via ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, the dispatcher noted. She was unsure how long the highway would remain closed as crews clear the scene.
