At 11:23 a.m. Friday, an officer initiated a traffic stop near Walmart in the Ohio Valley Plaza, St. Clairsville, on a vehicle with Ohio license plates. A woman was found to have an active warrant, according to the report. Laura A. Crothers, 42, was taken to the Belmont County Jail and booked on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear/theft.
At 9:34 a.m. Friday, a unit responded to Third Street, Powhatan Point, for a report of a suspicious vehicle being driven around the neighborhood slowly. According to the report, the vehicle left prior to the officer's arrival.
At 9:17 a.m. Friday, officers responded to an address on National Road in Colerain Township for a report of a possible overdose. A 29-year-old female was coherent after officers arrived, according to the report, which stated the female's parole officer was contacted. Nothing was seen in plain view, the report stated, and the female was taken for treatment in an emergency squad.
