Man wanted in stabbing found dead
UNIONTOWN — A man wanted by law enforcement for stabbing two females early Wednesday has been found dead, apparently of self-inflicted means.
Edward Reed, 49, who resided at a house on Uniontown-Flushing Road in the Uniontown area was found near the residence in the early afternoon. Authorities including Belmont County Sheriff’s deputies and the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on the lookout for Reed and had put the word out since the two victims, his wife and daughter, reportedly fled and called for help from another home. A dog was also found in the residence, apparently stabbed to death that morning.
The victims are being treated and the matter remains under investigation. No motive for the incident was given.
