Driver flown to hospital after crash in Colerain

COLERAIN -- A driver was transported by medical helicopter Monday afternoon after his vehicle struck a tree in Colerain.

Lt. Maurice Waddell, commander of the Ohio State Highway Patrol St. Clairsville Post, said the single-vehicle accident happened around 4 p.m. The individual was driving east on U.S. 250 when he failed to negotiate a turn and struck a tree on the left side of the road around milepost 1. The driver sustained serious injuries in the wreck and was flown by STAT MedEvac to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no update on the individual's condition was available.
