Fall Festival on the Street is Saturday in Martins Ferry
Food, vendors and music planned, rain or shine
MARTINS FERRY — First Presbyterian Church is hosting its first Fall Festival on the Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Parishioner Pam Chieffalo said there will be a variety of crafters and vendors selling their homemade crafts or products, such as Pampered Chef items or jewelry such as Paparazzi.
“There will be all kinds of unique things,” she said.
Food for sale cooked by the church will include garlic sausage, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, cabbage and noodles, chips, pop and water. She noted the garlic sausage can be ordered plain or with peppers or sauerkraut.
The event will be held rain or shine, she added. The church is located at 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.
Chieffalo said the church decided not to hold its Hungarian Festival because of the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 virus. However, after their usual craft vendors reached out, they decided to hold an easier-to-plan fall festival instead.
“We wanted to help them out. They missed a whole year and half of selling at fairs and festivals,” she noted. “We wanted to give them an extra day to bring up their livelihood this year.”
Chieffalo said there will also be a 50-50 raffle and a raffle of items donated by vendors.
“It will be a good old time of fellowship. Come eat and get early Christmas shopping in or look at something unique for your house,” she said.
