Woodsfield woman arrested for drug trafficking, possession after search of home

WOODSFIELD — A Woodsfield woman was arrested Sunday evening after police discovered drugs and paraphernalia during a search of her Woodland Court home.

The Woodsfield Police Department arrested 33-year-old Sonya Wilson on charges of aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, possessing drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police Chief Corey Jones said law enforcement executed a search warrant Sunday at 110 Woodland Court in Woodsfield as part of an extensive methamphetamine trafficking investigation. The search revealed an undisclosed amount of suspected methamphetamine, drug abuse instruments and paraphernalia, and Wilson was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail.

“It was a result of a long methamphetamine trafficking operation that we investigated and it came to this conclusion, finally, after a lot of hardwork and effort,” he said.
