NEFFS — The Belmont County Coroner’s Office is investigating an apparent suicide in Neffs today.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office reported a man was making “suicidal remarks” on social media. Law enforcement received a call this morning that the man was on McGregor Hill Road off of Ohio 149 and reportedly shot at a pickup truck.

The man reportedly fled into the woods. The sheriff’s Special Operations Team searched the woods for more than two-and-a-half hours before finding the man dead of an apparent suicide.
