Man arrested following chase from Ferry to Wheeling
MARTINS FERRY — A Wheeling man is in custody following a potentially dangerous chase.
According to a post on the Martins Ferry Police Department’s Facebook page, on Friday officers were investigating a hit/skip on Ohio 7 when the suspect, Joshua Walker, 24, of Wheeling, allegedly took off from the scene. The post said he struck an officer with his vehicle and initiated a pursuit, during which time several other vehicles were reportedly struck.
According to the Martins Ferry Police Department, the chase ended in Wheeling and the officer who was struck was not injured. Walker was later arrested in Wheeling. He is being held at Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville.
According to the jail, Walker is being held on charges of computer harassment, driving under the influence, driving without insurance and battery. No court date has been set.
