A Nickles Bakery employee died Monday morning in a workplace accident, according to Martins Ferry police.

MARTINS FERRY - Officials have confirmed that an employee has died in a "workplace accident" Monday morning at Nickles Bakery.
The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland said a call came in to assess the situation after an employee was trapped under a piece of equipment. It was determined that the employee, whose name has not been released, was dead on arrival.
No further information is being released at this time, McFarland said.
