SHADYSIDE — The Ohio State Highway Patrol on Monday released the names of those involved in Saturday’s fatal crash.

Raymond Cole, 41, of Martins Ferry died as a result of the head-on crash in which a driver reportedly was traveling the wrong direction in the southbound lanes of Ohio 7.

Cole was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his mother, Charlene Cole, 69, also of Martins Ferry.

According to the patrol, the at-fault driver was Samantha Seitz, 30, of Benwood. Seitz allegedly was driving north in the southbound lanes. The crash occurred near milepost 14.

Seitz is in jail awaiting arraignment in Belmont County Eastern Division Court, facing charges of driving under the influence, aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault. The Belmont County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case.
